Sweden Rock is four days of hard rock and metal on a seaside field in Sweden’s far south-east. For 2027 the tickets and the organiser’s camping have both changed, so here is what’s on sale, where to sleep, how to get there and what stays at the gate.

When you need this

You’re weighing up a June 2027 trip and want to know when tickets drop and which one to buy. Or you’ve got a ticket and now need a bed, a route from Copenhagen Airport, or the rules for bringing your kids. Or you bought a ticket you can’t use and want to know your options. This page covers Sweden Rock alone; for how it compares with Way Out West and the free city festivals, see our guide to Sweden’s summer music festivals.

Sweden Rock 2027 at a glance

The festival started in 1992 in Olofström, moved to Karlshamn a year later and settled in Norje in 1998. It took its current name in 1999. The organiser describes about 40,000 visitors from more than 60 countries, five stages and over 90 bands a year.

Tickets: what’s on sale and when

Official tickets come only from Ticketmaster, the organiser’s ticket partner. The general sale on 23 October 2026 covers four-day tickets, four-day Youth tickets, four-day VIP, child tickets and festival-week parking. One-day tickets, one-day VIP and one-day parking follow later.

Three things are new for 2027:

  • No three-day ticket. The organiser dropped it because few people bought it. In spring a limited “1+1 day” ticket will let you pick two days instead.
  • A Youth ticket for ages 13–17, cheaper than the standard pass. Your age during the festival decides which ticket you need, not your age when you buy it. A 17-year-old who turns 18 before 9 June needs a standard ticket.
  • No four-day Youth VIP. VIP means the VIP area with more food and drink, a fast lane at both main entrances, a hoodie and a lanyard with the running order. You can’t upgrade a normal ticket to VIP later.

Tickets become wristbands at the biljettombyte (wristband exchange) on the market square. VIP wristbands are collected at accreditation by the bus bay.

Refunds, resale and the private-seller trap

You can’t get your money back if you can’t go. The organiser refunds only if the whole festival is cancelled. Swedish law doesn’t help here either: the 14-day withdrawal right for online purchases does not cover cultural or leisure events on a fixed date (Lag 2005:59, chapter 2, section 11).

Tickets are not personal, so you can buy for a friend or sell one on. The organiser recommends Ticketmaster’s resale service, and the person using the ticket must collect the wristband in person. Be wary of buying privately. At the 2026 festival, police received seven fraud reports, and six were people cheated when buying tickets from private persons.

Children and teenagers

Sweden Rock calls itself an adult festival at heart that welcomes families, with firm rules:

Age during the festivalTicketWhat you need
Under 3NoneNot allowed on the festival grounds
3–12Child ticket, with a guardianEar defenders at all times; passport or national ID card for child and guardian
13–17Youth ticketValid ID at wristband collection
18+Standard or VIPNo age conditions

Ear defenders (hörselkåpor) are compulsory for every child under 13, and ordinary earplugs don’t count. A child without them is not let in. If they keep coming off after a warning, both child and guardian can be removed. Forgot them? The wristband exchange sells them at a reduced price, and so do the festival’s merchandise shops. Bar staff may not serve anyone under 18; that’s Swedish law, not festival policy.

Getting there without a car

The nearest station is Sölvesborg. Direct trains run there from Copenhagen Airport (Kastrup), which makes it the easiest international arrival; see Copenhagen Airport to Sweden for tickets and the border check. The trains are part of the Öresundståg network.

From Sölvesborg station, the bus company Nobina runs festival shuttle line 3 to the site in Norje, with frequent departures through festival week. Other Nobina festival lines link the site with Kristianstad, Ronneby, Olofström, Karlshamn, Hörvik and Hällevik. Ronneby Airport and Kristianstad Österlen Airport are both within an hour of Sölvesborg.

Driving? Book the organiser’s festival-week car park with your ticket. It lies north of Norje village, 1.5 km from the entrance on one organiser page and 2 km on another. Private car parks operate around the site too. There are no EV chargers at the festival car park; the nearest are in Sölvesborg. You may not sleep in your car in the car park.

Where to sleep

There are no hotels next to the field. The organiser lists hotels in Sölvesborg, Kristianstad, Karlshamn, Olofström, Ronneby and Karlskrona, and cottages around Norje are rented out privately. Most people camp.

Paradise Village is the organiser’s own camp for 2027, about 2 km north of the festival, with a free shuttle bus to the entrance when there’s room:

CampWhat it isWho it suits
Motor Camp (formerly Norra Camping)Pitches for caravans, motorhomes and roof tents; four camping wristbands includedDrivers with their own camper; open Mon 7 – Sun 13 June
Easy Camp (new for 2027)Ready-pitched tents for two or four with beds, bedding and phone-charging powerFlying in, travelling light
Diamond Camp (formerly glamping)Furnished tent for two with breakfast and parking includedComfort first; check-in Tue–Sat

Showers are free and there are accessible toilets and showers. Grilling is only allowed at marked barbecue spots, not at your pitch. Generators and battery packs aren’t allowed, and neither are party tents. An ordinary car or van with a loose mattress doesn’t count as a camping vehicle. Bookings are binding: no refund unless the festival is cancelled.

Bringing an ordinary ground tent? Use one of the privately run campsites around Norje. The organiser’s accommodation page lists them with links, and each sets its own rules and prices. If you’re touring further afterwards, our guide to camping in Sweden explains how ordinary campsites work.

At the gate: what you can’t bring

Bags up to 40 × 40 × 20 cm are allowed (the earlier bag ban ended in 2026). Anything confiscated is not returned. Leave these at your camp:

  • Alcohol and drugs. At a public event in Sweden, alcohol may only be drunk where serving is licensed; buy your own supply at Systembolaget, the state alcohol shop, and keep it at camp.
  • Food and drink, apart from small snacks such as candy, fruit or energy bars.
  • Glass or metal bottles, hip flasks, thermoses and aerosol cans, including deodorant and dry shampoo.
  • Weapons, knives and tools, including multitools and nail scissors; fireworks and laser pointers.
  • Sharp studs. Small blunt studs are fine, and a cartridge belt is allowed if it runs through your belt loops.
  • System cameras, selfie sticks, tripods, flagpoles, signs and umbrellas. Phones and compact cameras are fine, but no flash near the stages.
  • Pets, under any circumstances.

Medicines are allowed in the original packaging. For prescription medicine, carry the prescription or a doctor’s certificate in case you’re asked.

On site: paying, water and help

  • Cards only. No outlet on the grounds takes cash, so bring a contactless card.
  • Reusable cups. Your first drink includes a one-off cup deposit. Hand the cup back at each purchase for a fresh one, or swap it for a token.
  • Free water. Bring an empty plastic bottle; water stations are in the toilet areas and behind the grandstand.
  • Smoking is allowed only in six zones marked with yellow flags, never under roofs or canvas, in bars, food courts, at entrances, bus stops or the taxi area.
  • Lockers can be pre-booked outside the main entrance, at Plattan (the paved area just outside the grounds) and inside.
  • Medical care. Sweden Rock Rescue, about 60 people including doctors and specialist nurses, runs round-the-clock care at Plattan, backed by Red Cross volunteers and Region Blekinge. Defibrillators are marked on the map.
  • Lost property is handled by the police at Plattan during the festival, and by the police in Karlshamn afterwards; see lost property in Sweden.
  • No-photo badge. Don’t want to appear in the festival’s own photos? Pick up a badge at an info booth.

You can even get married: Sölvesborg Municipality holds civil weddings during the festival, with limited places and applications usually opening after New Year.

Police, drugs and the drive home

Police call the festival relatively calm, and their 2026 summary shows what does go wrong. Drones are banned over the site by a temporary flight restriction, and police ran camera surveillance of the grounds, car parks and camp walkways during the 2026 festival.

Police figure, Sweden Rock 2026Count
Crime reports in total76
Ticket frauds by private sellers6 of 7 frauds
Drug use / drug possession4 / 6
Drink- or drug-driving (from about 300 breath tests)10
Taken into custody for drunkenness50

Using drugs is itself a crime in Sweden, not just possessing them, and the normal penalty for use is 30 day-fines plus a criminal record entry (drug laws in Sweden). Don’t drive the morning after: the limit is 0.2 per mille, and any trace of a non-prescribed drug counts (drink-driving limit). Leave knives at home too. Police say even a small sheath knife is normally unacceptable at entertainment events.

Accessibility

The grounds have accessible toilets and a service area with flush toilets and wheelchair charging. Every stage has a raised platform with a ramp, and the entrances have adapted lanes. With a doctor’s certificate (läkarintyg) you can bring one companion (ledsagare) free. A small accessible campsite has electricity for every unit and its own entrance into the grounds. Apply for the companion place, accessible camping and parking together; applications for 2027 open in autumn 2026. A ticket you’ve already bought isn’t refunded if a companion place is granted, so apply before buying a second one. More in our accessible Sweden guide.

FAQ

When is Sweden Rock 2027 and when do tickets go on sale?

Sweden Rock Festival 2027 runs from Wednesday 9 to Saturday 12 June in Norje, near Sölvesborg. The general ticket sale opens on 23 October 2026 at 11:00 CEST through Ticketmaster, the only official seller, with four-day, Youth, VIP, child and parking tickets. One-day tickets and a limited 1+1 day option follow in spring. There is no three-day ticket.

How do I get to Sweden Rock without a car?

Take the train to Sölvesborg, the nearest station; direct trains run there from Copenhagen Airport. From Sölvesborg, Nobina’s festival shuttle bus line 3 runs to the festival site in Norje, and other festival lines serve Kristianstad, Karlshamn, Ronneby and nearby villages. Ronneby and Kristianstad airports are both within an hour of Sölvesborg.

Can I camp at Sweden Rock in a tent?

For 2027 the organiser’s Paradise Village takes roof tents, caravans and motorhomes at Motor Camp, and rents ready-pitched tents for two or four at Easy Camp. For an ordinary ground tent, use one of the privately run campsites around the site; the organiser lists them. Bookings are binding, and sleeping in an ordinary car is not allowed.

Can I bring children to Sweden Rock?

Yes, from age 3. Children aged 3 to 12 enter with a guardian on a child ticket, and both must show a passport or national ID card when collecting the wristband. Every child under 13 must wear ear defenders; earplugs are not enough. Teenagers aged 13 to 17 need the new Youth ticket and ID.

Can I get a refund or resell my Sweden Rock ticket?

No refund: the organiser repays only if the whole festival is cancelled, and Swedish law gives no 14-day withdrawal right for fixed-date event tickets. Tickets are not personal, so you can pass one on; the organiser recommends Ticketmaster’s resale service. Avoid private sellers: most fraud reports at the 2026 festival came from private ticket sales.

Can I bring my own alcohol or pay cash at Sweden Rock?

No to both. The festival bans alcohol, drugs, food beyond small snacks, and glass or metal bottles at the gate, and Swedish law limits drinking at public events to licensed serving areas. Every bar and food outlet takes cards only. Bring a contactless card and an empty plastic bottle for the free water stations.

Is Sweden Rock accessible for wheelchair users?

The organiser provides accessible toilets, a service area for charging wheelchairs, raised platforms with ramps at every stage, adapted entrance lanes, and a small accessible campsite with its own entrance. With a doctor’s certificate you can bring one companion free. Applications for 2027 open in autumn 2026.
